Q Solo – A For Real Mono Scooter?

We’ve been seeing various electric-powered, gyroscope-equipped mono-wheel scooters for the past few years. Ryno is an American-made example apparently still available for an undisclosed amount money you must contact the company directly to discover. Another is the Uno. Originally a mono-wheel scoot, the Uno has morphed into a Transformer that changes from one thing into another (motorcycle?) at the push of a button. According to a 2012 Facebook post, it’s still under development.

Found among the clutter of my inbox this morning was an email from Touch of Modern (an online retail outfit with various eccentric wares) showcasing the Q Solo. Apparently, the Q Solo is an electric-powered, gyroscope-equipped mono-wheel scooter that’s legitimately available for purchase. Touch of Modern is offering the Q Solo for a reduced price of $1,899 from its $2,499 MSRP. It’s not eligible for return, but it does boast a one-year warranty. There’s not much other information besides some general specs:

  • Max Speed: 22 mph
  • Distance: 20-30 Miles
  • Max Load: 265 lbs
  • Motor: 500w
  • Battery: 60v 10.5amp
  • Charging: 3-4 Hours
  • Max incline: 35 Degrees
  • Tire: 17″
  • Net Weight: 64 lbs
  • Dimensions: 28 x 12 x 28″
  • Warranty: Manufacturer: 1 Year

I was unable to find the manufacturer’s website, negating any purchase attempt by me. But, if someone out there gets one, we’d love to hear about the product and the experience.
